1) How much does Grab Hire cost?
The cost varies depending on a number of factors; firstly the location of the site; secondly the amount of waste material being disposed of; and finally the type of material being disposed of. If you would like a quote then call or email us today.
2) How much can a grab truck carry?
All grab trucks weigh in at around 16 tonnes empty and have a maximum authorised mass of 32 tonnes, meaning they can legally carry up to 16 tonnes on the road. In volume this equates to between 12 and 15 cubic meters of waste, depending on the type of material.
3) How wide is a grab truck?
Our grab trucks are about 2.6 metres wide, but we would recommend that you have at least an additional 20cm clearance either side, making a total minimum entrance size of 3 metres.
4) How much headroom does a grab truck need?
The minimum headroom needed for a grab truck to pass under is 3.8 metres, however we will require at least an additional 2 metres to operate the crane.
5) How far can the crane on a grab truck reach?
All our vehicles are now fitted with a double extension cranes, which have a maximum reach of 7 metres from the side of the vehicle.
6) Can a grab truck load over a fence or wall?
Yes they can, as long as the driver is able to pull the vehicle up close alongside the fence or wall and he is able to directly see the material to be loaded from the control platform behind the cab.
7) How long will it take to load the vehicle?
Provided that the waste material is heaped up in a single easily accessible pile, our drivers should be able to load the vehicle in about 15-30 minutes.
8) Where should I put the waste material?
Before you choose a spot to heap up the waste material, be sure to check that there are no low overhanging tree branches or cables as these will prevent the driver from being able to load. In addition to this make sure that the driver is able to pull the vehicle directly alongside the material.
9) How much notice will you need?
We recommend that you give us 48 hours notice if you require a specific collection or delivery time. However we can sometimes still accommodate a booking made on the same day. We also offer a 24/7 emergency call out service (subject to availability).
10) Is there any waste you cannot dispose of?
